
Joe
A front-of-the-house guy with 20-plus years experience, Joe Hargrave, 37, has been responsible for building some of the most well known restaurant brands in San Francisco, including Restaurant Lulu, Rose Pistola, Restaurant Zibbibo, Azie and Frisson. He’s served these restaurants as director of food and beverage, general manager, director of operations and consultant.
In the summer of 2007, Joe happily tossed his suits and started wearing t-shirts to work when he opened Laïola—a casual, Spanish concept that he’d had brewing in his head for years.
Even more than he loves the restaurant world, Joe loves Mia, his 8-year-old daughter who can be frequently found designing the restaurant’s chalkboard, passing out her special pink cupcakes to customers or enjoying her eponymous mocktail at the bar.
Joe lives in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood and spends his free time blabbing on about either why the Dodger’s should win the World Series or the ridiculousness of the terms mixologist and bar chef.
